Gurus like Roxie Nafousi and Dr Tara swart and old school practitioners like Rhonda Byrne, author of The Secret, are all cashing in by helping people around the world manifest their dream lives... but is manifesting all it's cracked up to be. Does it work, and how can you practise the law of attraction?
Manifesting is just the updated term for the Law of Attraction, a practice and belief system that has been around for thousands of years. It works on the principle that you attract what you feel into your life, so if you are feeling negative and in a constant place of "lack", you will only attract negative things, but if you are grateful and positive, then you will attract good things.
But this mindset that you attract what you feel can lead to "toxic positivity" and a constantly switched-on false persona of happiness that is harming your well-being instead of helping it.
So how can you practise manifesting in a safe and non-toxic way?
The first thing you should do is truly understand what manifesting is and learn the skills that will help you to manifest. This includes things like gratitude practice, journaling and vision boarding. You need to get at the core of what you want and why you want it and truly believe that you deserve this thing you are trying to manifest.
Is there any science behind manifesting?
Yes, there is, but it lies in understanding how our brain works and learning to work with and programme it to go after the things we want rather than keeping us in our "safe" space. How can I level up my manifesting?
If you want to take your manifesting to the next level, then we recommend combining the senses when you are doing your manifesting work. By this, we mean, lighting an aromatherapy candle that corresponds to the life or thing you want to attract, for instance, a romantic candle for romance, energy for health, tranquillity for better well-being and happiness... once that's lit, start with meditating for a few minutes to clear your mind and then get vision boarding!
